Air – Le voyage dans la lune

March 2nd, 2012 — 3:27pm

Air has put out a new album that is quite possibly their best work yet. It is short at only 30 minutes or so total of playtime.

Here are two of my favorite tracks from the album:
Parade

Sonic Armada

No Music for a Week/Winter Coming

November 5th, 2010 — 10:42am

So, randomly I have not listened to music for a week now. Mostly due to the fact that my headphones are all broken. It has been interesting, I have not gone a day without listening to music for months on end until now. It is quite entertaining what random songs will pop into your head. For a while I was getting some Bruce Springsteen, in which I rarely ever even listen to. Also some Santana was getting stuck in my head, which it has also been years of listening to. Today I was sitting at my desk and had Nada Surf – Zen Brain stuck in my head and finally had to give in. I turned to Scout and had to ask if I could borrow his headphones to give some music a listening. Now I am continuing to listen to the rest of Nada Surf – High/Low and it is quite refreshing. I am hearing everything much clearer then usual and really appreciating the enjoyment. Not to mention I have switched my desktop background to a beautiful white snowy road which just makes me want to wander around a frozen forest. Oh winter here you come.

The SLSS

August 30th, 2010 — 3:21pm

So lately I have been playing drums in a .. well you know how it works when you try to put a genre on any type of music. It rocks and grooves, that is all that really matters. Tarun is on guitar and Krispy is on bass. The Shoreline Sweet Sound (Shit Show). We have two of our song creations that are works in progress.

Jammy Jam One

Jammy Jam Two

We had taken a small little break due to work travels and knee injuries (yeah…) but kicking things back into motion.

Enjoy the clips look forward to better recordings soon.

Google Voice/SMS

August 29th, 2010 — 9:00pm

Hey, have you ever forgot your phone when you are already at work, or just are near a computer, but have no way to using your phone. I started thinking there has to be a way that I can still get in touch with someone via text message or phone call. Yeah there is always the option of borrowing someones phone, but if your anything like me, I don’t know anyone’s phone number by heart anymore. So this is what I did:

  1. Login to my verizon. Select all of my contacts and export to csv.
  2. Now that I have all my contacts, I can actually import them into either a Google document (easiest) or change format and upload into Google Contacts.
  3. Now you can reference someones phone number and use either Google Phone or inside labs there is a widget you can add to send SMS text messages as a chat.

It’s nice to be able to know that even if I forgot my phone or it is not working and or lost. I can still get in touch with someone from work that day.

Physical Therapy

August 25th, 2010 — 10:14am

So last night I started physical therapy for my knee. I took a hockey puck to the bone of my knee via slapshot. It ended up swelling up and causing much discomfort and pain. After going to the doctor and making sure it was just a severe bruise, I decided why not do some therapy for it. I have never gone to physical therapy for anything and found the whole process to be pretty awesome. Started off with an examination and then moved to very slow movements on the bike. Once the bike was done there were about 15 different strengthening exercises working every single muscle (some I forgot what it felt like to work). All in all its definitely going to speed up recovery and help improve strength in my knee.

The best part for sure is the ice pack with stimulaton. Electronic pulses that are meant to sooth the muscle surrounding and it feels pretty awesome. Not suggesting, but if you ever have the chance to do physical therapy for any injuries, it’s definitely worth it.

Reviving the blog

August 25th, 2010 — 4:04am

So for the past few months now I have been on hiatus for doing any blogging. It’s about time to keep things moving and keep the blog alive. It seems like it is so easy to get sidetracked or distracted. Anyway things have been good lately and have been trying to get back into taking some photos. So I leave you with a floating over a skateboard in Omaha at Robert’s Park.
